Víya [VEE-YUH]
a light breeze
Hey! I'm Manav, and it’s awesome to meet you (virtually).
If you’re here, you’re probably searching for a jeweler you can trust—or maybe someone sent you our way but didn’t give you much context. Either way, let me introduce you to Víya and what we’re all about.
At Víya, we don’t see ourselves as traditional salespeople. We’re not here to push a product just to pocket a commission. We started by designing for our closest friends and family, and that same level of care is at the heart of what we do today. Every piece we create is made with intention, crafted with precision, and built to last. What sets us apart isn’t just our expertise or resources—it’s the way we treat our clients, old and new. We take our time, pay attention to the details that matter, and go above and beyond to make sure you feel confident in your choice.
And if you’re wondering about the name—Víya comes from Sanskrit, meaning little breeze. It’s loosely translated to the feeling a breeze gives you—light, effortless, at ease. That’s exactly how we want you to feel with us.
Now, let’s rewind a bit.
Víya exists because of family, legacy, and an unexpected journey.
Diamonds, gemstones, and precious metals have been deeply woven into Indian culture for centuries. In fact, 90% of the world’s diamonds are cut in India—particularly in Gujarat, where my family is from. My father was born into this legacy, but his path wasn’t set in stone.
At just 13 years old, after finishing 6th grade, he had a choice: continue our family’s farming tradition or carve out something new. In the growing city of Surat, he found his way into diamond cutting. Over the years, his journey took him from Mumbai to Hong Kong and eventually to New York and New Jersey—our home. Then again, as immigrants, we’ve always had two homes.
I won’t pretend that jewelry design was always my passion. When my father passed away during my junior year of college, my brother and I had different dreams. But when our mom asked us to take the mantle and continue our family’s multi-national diamond and jewelry manufacturing business, the answer was clear.
The day after I graduated from Purdue, I was at work with my mom. At first, I knew little about diamonds, the industry, or even running a business. Everything we know now? We learned through experience—through mistakes, through guidance from loved ones, and through figuring things out as we went.
Somewhere along the way, my close friends—who had some idea of what I did but knew it wasn’t engineering—started asking me to help them find the perfect rings for their partners.
Those moments became the foundation for Víya.
So, whether you’re here to design a one-of-a-kind piece, find the perfect engagement ring, or just learn more about jewelry, we’ve got you.
